Habitat For Humanity Partnership

Thanks for stopping by to learn a little bit about Second Baptist Downtown’s (2BC) partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

Why: 2BC wanted to make a difference, a life changing difference, in the life of one person. We thought about it and decided that there are few better ways then to help someone own their own home. Also, because we are a downtown church we wanted to give the downtown community an easy opportunity to get involved and to make a difference in the life of someone. To view some photos of the project please click here.

What: 2BC is building a Habitat for Humanity house on our church parking lot through May 10th. Once the house is completed it will be relocated to a spot just off John Barrow Road in West Little Rock.

About Shannon: Our Habitat House recipient, Shannon, is a young single mom with two kids. Until recently she has been working two jobs and volunteering with Habitat to fulfill their requirements for obtaining a home. To view those requirements visit www.habitatpulaski.org. In the fall, Shannon will be starting school full time to become an elementary school teacher.

How you can help:

  • Stop by any Saturday through May 10th between 8am-2pm at 2BC to volunteer. Just sign a waiver and then get right to work. Bring some gloves and a hammer if you have one. Volunteers will be provided a free lunch on site.

  • Attend our benefit concert on May 11th at 6 pm by the award-winning Nashville gospel group Legacy Five (www.legacyfive.com). To read more about it and to buy tickets online, click here.
