Wayne is our Lake Nixon Caretaker, a volunteer position he inherited when his family moved to Lake Nixon. Wayne was born and raised in Missouri, where he earned a BS in Music at Southwest Missouri University. He obtained Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Wayne is a Board Certified Chaplain and is currently employed as a chaplain at the VA Hospital.
Wayne maintains all the equipment at Lake Nixon, fixes anything that breaks, mows, weed-eats, hauls trash, moves sand and anything else that needs to be done, all after a full day at the hospital. He still finds time to build campfires and give hayrides.
Wayne has been married to Kathy for 38 years and they have three children and seven grandchildren. Wayne enjoys singing on the vocal team and in the choir and loves playing the congas and other 'noisemakers'. In his spare time, he is an avid deer and turkey hunter.
