The heartbeat of our student ministry is to be authentic Christ followers. Our students come from all over the city— from different backgrounds, middle schools, high schools, families, and interests. Yet their desire to be like Jesus is the same.

Small Groups

Small groups meet throughout the week in leader's homes; during these times laughter erupts, stories are told, food is at hand, and our lives are intentionally centered around the heart and life of Jesus. The youth are split into small groups based on their age and their gender.

Prayer

Prayer is foundational to everything we do in the student ministry. Anyone who wants to wake up far too early on a Friday morning is welcome to join us in the prayer room for an ever-evolving hour spent with God. On Sunday mornings the students huddle up and pray for one another’s prayer concerns… and this continues throughout the week.

Family Groups

Family groups are led by a team of student leaders who prepare and teach Biblical lessons every Sunday morning. Usually we spend 1-2 months studying a specific topic or book. For example, we just finished going through Hebrews, chapter by chapter.

Other Youth stuff:

Sunday afternoons are for band practice, grabbing some lunch together and then Ultimate Frisbee. Wednesday nights are spent eating dinner together and then getting involved in the various Worship Arts classes — which are for teaching the students to use their gifts and talents for the Lord. Worship Arts includes video team, choir, handbells, art class, guitar class, youth band, dance, and/or drama.

Other than the typical weekly activities, the students who are involved in the 2BC youth deliberately call and hang out with one another throughout the week. They see one another at school, meet up on weekends for a meal or a movie, or they log into Facebook to leave one another random comments. These students pursue a relationship with Christ first and foremost and are sincere in the relationships they build with one another.
